The Tufted Titmouse is one of my favorite backyard visitors. They are predicable, reliable and fun to watch. And such a handsome little friend!

I’ll hear them coming from various directions and they first land on a branch and check things out.

Then they dart over to a feeder, grab a seed and dart back to a safe branch to work from. And now they work!

Holding it with their little feet, they pound on the seed repeatedly with their bill to break it open.

Then the talented action with their intricate tongue begins.
